Our infrastructure is purpose-built to handle the full suite of MARPOL wastes efficiently, safely and in full compliance with Malaysian and international regulations.
High-Capacity Processing
PKPRF’s processing systems are designed for high throughput, enabling fast reception and treatment of oily sludge, bilge water, scrubber wastewater and other complex waste streams.
This capacity helps minimise vessel time alongside and reduces the risk of delays or demurrage.
Dedicated Storage Tanks
A network of dedicated storage tanks provides safe segregation of different waste types, including oily residues, scrubber effluents, chemical liquids and recovered fuels.
Proper segregation protects product quality, avoids cross-contamination and supports downstream recycling and recovery.
Versatile Waste Handling
The facility is engineered to handle a wide range of marine wastes, including oily sludge, bilge water, hazardous waste, used rags and gloves, engine oil, chemical residues, e-waste and batteries.
This versatility allows shipowners and agents to consolidate waste reception with a single, trusted partner.
Sustainable Recycling – Waste-to-Fuel
Where suitable, waste oils and sludge are converted into refined fuel oil and other usable products.
This waste-to-fuel pathway reduces indiscriminate disposal and replaces a portion of fossil-fuel demand, contributing directly to circular-economy practices.
Advanced Wastewater Treatment
Our advanced wastewater treatment plant removes oils, suspended solids and contaminants from ship-generated wastewater.
Treated water meets regulatory discharge standards, while separated residues are sent for licensed treatment or recycling, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding waters.
Green Features On-Site
PKPRF’s facilities incorporate green features such as solar power generation and rainwater harvesting.
These measures reduce the site’s operational carbon footprint and demonstrate our commitment to sustainable port operations.
Digital Monitoring & Traceability
PKPRF’s in-house digital dashboard provides real-time visibility across the entire waste-handling process from ship reception to final treatment or recycling. Each collection is logged, tracked and time-stamped, giving shipping lines, agents and authorities confidence in data accuracy.
Digital records support MARPOL documentation, internal audits and external inspections. Customisable reporting makes it easier for our customers to meet Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosure requirements and demonstrate compliance with international environmental standards.
Waste-to-Fuel & GHG Reduction
ISCC-certified waste-to-fuel pathways
PKPRF integrates advanced waste-to-fuel conversion technologies that turn marine waste oils and sludge into ISCC-certified circular fuel. This pathway is aligned with the EU Renewable Energy Directive III (RED III), which focuses on greenhouse-gas reduction, sustainable sourcing and lifecycle carbon accounting.
