Services & Compliance

24/7 MARPOL-compliant waste reception at Westports, Port Klang
PKPRF operates round the clock as a one-stop solution for vessel waste management at Port Klang. We provide safe, efficient reception of ship-generated waste across all MARPOL Annexes, backed by certified CePSWaM personnel and full traceability from ship to final treatment.

Comprehensive services. Full MARPOL compliance.

Our services cover the full range of marine waste streams – from oily residues, scrubber waste and sewage to garbage, hazardous waste and tank washings. Every operation is carried out under strict MARPOL and Department of Environment (DoE) requirements.

Oily Sludge & Bilge Water Disposal

PKPRF receives and processes oily sludge, bilge water and other hydrocarbon-contaminated residues from engine-room and machinery spaces. Waste is safely transferred from vessel to shore, stored in dedicated tanks and treated in accordance with MARPOL Annex I and Malaysian regulations.

Scrubber Waste Treatment

We handle scrubber wastewater and scrubber solids sludge generated by exhaust gas cleaning systems. PKPRF provides controlled reception, storage and treatment of these high-load liquid streams, ensuring full compliance with MARPOL Annex VI and local environmental standards.

Chemical & Noxious Liquid Substances

PKPRF is equipped to collect and manage noxious liquid substances in bulk as well as harmful substances carried in packaged form. This includes chemical residues, contaminated liquids and dangerous goods falling under the IMDG Code. All movements are documented and handled in line with MARPOL Annex II and Annex III requirements.

Scrubber Waste & Waste Water Reception

We provide reception and treatment of ship-generated waste water from bilge, ballast and scrubber operations. Our advanced waste water treatment systems are designed to protect local waters while fulfilling MARPOL Annex I and Annex VI obligations for vessels calling at Port Klang.

Garbage Collection & Used Cooking Oil

PKPRF collects shipboard garbage, including food waste, plastics, paper and other solid wastes, as well as used cooking oil. Segregation and recycling options are offered wherever possible to support waste reduction and circular-economy practices in line with MARPOL Annex V.

Hazardous & Electronic Waste

We manage a range of hazardous solid wastes generated on board, including electronic waste, battery waste, fluorescent bulbs, contaminated cotton rags and gloves, and contaminated containers. All hazardous streams are handled under controlled conditions and transferred to licensed downstream facilities for final treatment or disposal.

Vessel Tank Cleaning Support

PKPRF supports vessel tank cleaning by receiving tank washings, residues and associated wastes. Our team coordinates with ship crews and agents to plan safe transfers, minimise berth time and ensure that all collected waste is properly classified and documented.

Oil Spill Response

Located within Westports, PKPRF can respond rapidly to oil spill incidents within the port area. Our responders work alongside port authorities to contain and recover spilled oil, followed by safe storage and treatment of the recovered waste streams.

Waste Oil Treatment into ISCC-compliant “Circular Residual Oil (Fuel Oil)”

Where suitable, collected waste oils are treated to produce “Circular Residual Oil (Fuel Oil),” supporting sustainable reuse and helping shipping customers reduce their reliance on virgin fossil fuels. This forms part of PKPRF’s wider contribution to circular-economy solutions for marine waste.
